On Tuesday 13th February, Jenna and Kim, along with Kimโs dog Jason, visited the boys and girls in Junior and Senior Infants. They came to tell the boys and girls all about their job as a veterinarian . The children had been learning all about the veterinary surgery during Aistear so it was a treat to meet real vets. They learned all about the role of the veterinary surgeon, the veterinary nurse and the animal care assistant as well as about important procedures like surgeries, x-rays, vaccinations and care of puppies and kittens. They even got to perform an examination on Jason, the border collie, who loved all the attention ! The children checked Jasonโs teeth, eyes, ears, located his microchip and listened to his heart with a stethoscope. Thank you so much to Jenna, Kim and Jason for coming to visit and teaching us so much.
