We were delighted to participate in The Big Travel Challenge in February as part of our theme Global Citizenship: Travel. Each day, our wonderful Green-Schools Committee collected โscores on the doorsโ from each class. We kept a record of the number of children travelling to school in a green way each day. Well done to Mrs. Maddenโs 6th Class who had the highest numbers over the fortnight.
We held our Day of Action on February 11th. A massive 60% of our school community travelled to school in a sustainable way. We also had many boys and girls who โblingedโ their bikes, scooters and shoes in honour of our day of action. Well done to our winner, Maisie!
We held a competition to create a Green-Schools mascot. Congratulations to our winner, Georgie, who created a fabulous travel mascot named Tilly the Turtle. Look out for her around our school in the weeks to come!
Our Green-Code for our travel theme was created by Hailey, who very creatively came up with the catchphrase; โStop driving, start thriving!โ Well done to Hailey and thanks to all our competition entrants during The Big Travel Challenge!
